Distinguished Alumni
George R. Davis, Class of 1952 and long-time chemistry teacher at South Side High School, initiated the Distinguished Alumni Award concept in 1996 as part of the SSHS 75th Anniversary Celebration. The criteria for nomination and selection of honorees are: 1) Exemplary service to South Side; 2) Exceptional service to the community; and/or 3) Impressive career achievements and accomplishments. Because of the significance of the award, Distinguished Alumni are chosen and honored every five years. Nominations can be made by any Archer Alumni, and are welcome at any time.
